I often wonder why, when salespeople fall into a slump,
they always want to find reasons why, to
BLAME IT ON SOMETHING OTHER THAN THEMSELVES.
The myriad of excuses that get thrown about,
never cease to amaze me.
"It's the leads, they suck."
or
"No one is coming on the lot anyway,
so I'm just gonna go have a smoke."
or
"The owners always give the good leads to Mike,
and they leave me with the shit."
or
"Here's the reason Dave's commission checks
have been so big lately."
"He landed a whale, the dude was a complete lay down."
"The G.M just gave Dave that lead,
because he likes him more than me"
"He bought from Dave, 10 times this month."
or
my personal favorite...
"I'm not making anything here...
I'm thinking about just quitting."
It's never their fault.
Would you purchase anything from someone
who exudes an attitude like this?
THE POTENTIAL CUSTOMERS SEE IT AND FEEL IT!
THE NEGATIVITY IS LITERALLY
POURING OUT OF THIS PERSON.
Have you ever been guilty of this?
It's time to alter this form of thinking right now,
it's a cancer to your success.
This cancer, if not dealt with,
and CUT OUT of your mind, will kill you.
If you are around this kind of salesperson,
don't walk away, FREAKIN' RUN.
If this salesperson is you.
You need to kill off this side of your persona,
and run as far away from it as you can.
Remember,
"Winning is habitual,
unfortunately so is losing."
"Success always leaves clues,
If you concentrate on crap, more crap will always follow.
You are literally telling your sub-conscious mind,
that this is exactly what you want.
Remember the phrase:
"Be careful of what you wish for,
because you just might get it."
You cannot be positive for 1 hour per day,
then the rest of your working day, thinking about crap.
You are sending 2 opposing messages to your brain,
and the one that is most powerful will always win.
If you participate in meetings that are designed specifically
to motivate and inspire you, then 10 minutes later
fall into the mindset of....
"They always give John the good leads,
and they always leave me with the shit."
"That's the real reason why he's killing it."
You just knocked yourself, right out of the game.
You cannot have dual sets of competing thoughts,
occupying precious mind space in your head.
That's like saying:
"I just sent in my application
to join the Optimist club."
"But I don't think they're gonna accept it."
Get the point?
When you have 2 competing thoughts in your head,
the one that is most powerful will always win.
Hey, this is on us as salespeople.
We have to manage more than anything, our state of mind.
This does not fall on your company, your manager, or any other person.
It's all on you.
I want to explain something to all salespeople...
A company will spend approximately $400.00 to create
an opportunity for you to earn a commission.
That's the national average.
Yeah, I said it.
It takes about $400.00 of real money
spent by your company, to create just one lead.
Did they ask you to "fork over" that money,
so you have the opportunity to make money for your family?
So how are you going to spend their money?
It's time for all of us "gut up" and get our heads "in the game."
I want you to know that I truly do believe,
that the salespeople reading this post,
want to get better at everything they do in sales.
If not, you would have not read this far.
I believe in you.
The reason I am writing this is simple.
I can teach you what you need to know on how to handle objections, and how to quickly take care of smokescreens.
I can show you how to actually do your presentation
in such a way that is not only entertaining, but also fun.
However...
you controlling your mental state,
is on you.
No matter what is happening in your personal life, it ends the moment you meet your new friend. That new friend has the opportunity to change everything for you, right now.
So treat this new opportunity like the true blessing it is.
Your prospect will see your sincerity, and will reward you handsomely.
"People don't care how much you know,
until they know how much you care."
Show them the real you...
The you; that in your heart, you really are.
Let them know that they have made the very best choice
possible; by being there at this very moment with you.
Show this new friend, something they are not expecting.
A salesperson, who cares more about them,
than the commission they are going to earn.
Trust me, you will get paid much more,
by showing this "new you" to your prospect.
Remember...
They are the ones who actually are paying you.
So make sure, you are worth paying for.
YOU GOT THIS!!!!
