The problem is..your but is too big!!

Let me explain a few things about salespeople:
Most are LAZY...
Most want TO TAKE THE EASY WAY OUT...
Most can find EXCUSES NOT TO DO SOMETHING...
and above all
MOST, HAVE A REALLY BIG BUT!!

What I have seen throughout the years with salespeople,
is there is always seems to be a "REASON WHY" something happens.
And, It's never their fault.
If you want to make this your career.
If you want to make money.
If you want to make your spouse happy.
You must LOSE your BUT.

I have seen excuses run the gamut.

"I was going to study the presentation last night,
BUT something came up and I couldn't find the time."

"I know how to sell, BUT it's the leads, they're terrible."

"I want to have sales be my only source of income,
BUT what if I can't pay my bills."

"I almost closed the sale, BUT I let the client take control of the presentation, and lost the deal."

"I show the customer the price, BUT I just can't seem to get them over the hump, it's the presentation, it doesn't work."

"These leads suck, BUT if I got the leads that they give to John over there, I would be kicking ass"

"I want to start to lose weight, BUT I am on the road so much, I just can't seem to eat right."

BUT, BUT, BUT, BUT...

Let me tell you what a BUT is.
A BUT is nothing more than an EXCUSE.

When you were 15 or so, you studied so you could obtain your Drivers License.  Did anyone have to encourage you to study?  You made no excuses, as a matter of fact your parents were probably impressed with your dedication to learning what you needed to do in order to obtain your Drivers Licence.

You know why, YOU WANTED IT.

Human beings will do more to obtain something they WANT, then they will do to obtain something they NEED.

If you intend on making sales your career you have to WANT IT.
If you want something bad enough there is nothing that you will allow to stand in your way to get it accomplished.

If want you to be a success at selling,
your BUT can no longer stand in your way.

If your BUT is too big, it will cripple you.

I'm sure there have been times in your life when you wanted something, and you did not allow anything to get in your way.
Think back...I know there is something there.
How did you feel after you accomplished what you set out to do?
You need to dig back into those emotions and resurrect them.
You need to transfer those emotions you had then, into the present time.

Look, we all at times, will have things not go our way.  It's life.
I have been there before, when my BUT, was also quite LARGE.
It wasn't until I made the decision, that if I truly wanted this to be my career, I would need to discard all of the EXCUSES that I had so readily available.

I would need to find the Guy or Gal in the office who was selling the best, and figure out what they were doing, that others were not.

You know what it always turned out to be?

They knew what they were talking about.
They practiced the presentation they were given, with regularity.
They knew how to overcome objections.
They didn't bitch and moan about the leads.
And the biggie...They just outworked everyone.

For me, it meant that I needed to get off my BUTT,
and get my head in the game.

It wasn't until I made the decision not to allow my BUT ,
(THE EXCUSES I HAD SO READILY AVAILABLE)
to get in the way any longer, that things changed.

I am telling you now, lose your BUT.
It is as simple as changing your mind.
