I cannot stress just how important this is for anyone who is wanting Sales to be your career.
The person who allows themselves "AN OUT," will always take it. I will explain this in detail.
Please pay attention to what I am telling you here, it will save you much unnecessary heartache.
If you truly want to become THE GUY or THE GAL...THE MASTER CLOSER IN YOUR SALES ORGANIZATION, you need to cut off any form of retreat.
Uhhh skuuuuze me, what did you just say Bear?
Here is what I mean...you cannot have any other source of income. (Outside of your personal investments, of course)
All of your income must solely come from sales,
or you have left yourself an out.
In other words you can't have a part time job "that is helping me pay the bills while I figure this whole sales thing out."
Remember the famous saying...
"whether you think you can,
or you think you can't you are right."
If you are just partially committed to this, you will most definitely get partially committed results. You cannot leave a path of retreat; a way out, or you WILL END UP taking it.
I guarantee it. I have seen it a thousand times.
When Cortez reached the New World, things weren't going as planned. Guys were sick, they didn't like the food, the locals weren't always nice and everyone was just a bit bummed out.
In other words, they wanted a way out,
they wanted to head back home.
So Cortez, along with some loyal crew, while everyone was sleeping, went out into the bay where the ships were moored and burned the ships into the ocean.
Talk about commitment, I can only imagine the conversation that took place the following morning...
"Hey guys, I know that you all are a bit pissed about the whole burning the ships into the ocean thing.
I know that you want to kill me and all.
But, do you see those fellas over there who want to kill and eat us?
Yeah, those guys right there on that hill.
They outnumber us 1000 to 1.
So hear is the thing... I seem to be the only one
who was smart enough to learn the language.
So, if you do anything to me, you all are kinda screwed.
We either figure this whole new world thing out,
quit crying and acting like a bunch of babies,
or we are going to die."
NOW, HOW BOUT THAT FOR A MOTIVATIONAL SPEECH?
If that don't move you, nothing will...No fake Guru crap here.
We either get it done or we die,
pretty straight forward and to the point.
In that story, there was no way for a path of retreat.
I call it the MUST, GOTTA BE.
It MUST GET DONE, IT'S JUST GOTTA BE DONE!!

We as salespeople, must be able to give
AMAZING PRESENTATIONS.
We must be able to answer objections, and most importantly...
GET YOUR CUSTOMER TO MAKE A DECISION.
If you follow what you are being shown, there is absolutely no need for you to worry about BEING ABLE TO SUPPORT yourself and your family.
You can rest assured, that no matter whom you are selling for, money will be no issue for you.
Keep pounding and believing in yourself.
